Oh! And this weekend, Brandon officially put the pool away for the winter. Although, it's sad to see her go (not to mention the ugly spot she left on the lawn) I am anxious for fall and winter to arrive and so, in that aspect, I welcome the end of swimming season!
"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

"autumn" ized
With our high temps today barely reaching the high 70's it is obvious that August only has a few more hours and then September will begin! I know that we will see some more summer-like days before fall officially begins, but to get myself in the spirit for cooler temperatures and football season I like to prepare the house for fall as soon as September shows up on the calendar! Today, the boys and I went to Hobby Lobby to get flowers for my front and back door arrangemnts. We chose mostly greens, yellows and reds! While the boys napped I put together my arrangements and hung them up. Okay Okay...the back door wreaths came premade...but I made the front door one all by myself! Now I just want to leave the door open so I can see the fall colors all day long!
