Mighty Mighty Broncos!!

This morning was Ashtyn's school assembly! The high school is celebrating homecoming week and so the elementary schools celebrated by supporting the Broncos in their Friday assembly! The 5th graders and kindergarten class, at Ashtyn's school, teamed up to perform the Bronco Chant and they got the entire school involved! All the parents of the kids performing were invited to attend! Ashtyn didn't seem a bit nervous and stood very confident in front of his whole school! We were very proud of him!
Here is a short video of the pre-assembly activities. While the rest of the school ushered into the cafeteria and took their seats the kindergarten and 5th grade classes kept the energy up!! I was quite impressed with the assembly routine, I have to say! Once all the students were seated, the teachers led them in the good morning song (including how to say hello in different languages!), a greeting to all the "special guests" and teachers, pledge of allegiance and even the national anthem! That's right...a room full of kindergarteners all the way thru 6th graders sang the entire national anthem! It was amazing! The assembly went very smooth and the students were all very well behaved! Those teacahers know what they are doing!

Finally it was time for the real show to begin! Ashtyn remembered all the words to the Bronco Chant but also kept his eye on mom and dad during the presentation! It's an amazing feeling to see your baby boy up in front of the whole school so grown up and then have him make eye contact with you across the room and wave with a big smile! He's all grown up and yet still my baby boy wrapped up into one!

I miss the "Great Expectations" format that many Oklahoma districts use to promote school spirit.
