from "JUST LAUGH"

Not only will "boys be boys" but also "toddlers will be toddlers". I think whether you have, or have had, little boys or girls your children eventually get to an age where they become very curious! They wonder and ask questions about EVERYTHING! They ask about "where rain comes from" and "why old people don't have hair" but they also begin to ask questions that us parents don't want to answer and honestly don't know how to answer in toddler language. Ya know what I'm talking about...the questions where they say "what is this?" while pointing to a particular part of their body. Or when they ask "Why doesn't she have one?" while again pointing to a particular part of their body. We know as mommy's and daddy's we have to be mature and come up with the right way to answer these questions but at the same time we just want to giggle and turn red and ignore the question all together. Well, recently Maddox approached me with a new question. He was sitting on my lap facing me and we were just talking and laughing and tickling when he began poking me in the "chest". I was sort of shocked and started to remove him from my lap when he poked me yet again and said "Are these bellies?" Oh my! I'm turning red just typing this story! I wasn't sure what to say! In fact, I couldn't say anything right away. I blushed and laughed and came up with some general answer not revealing any real information but giving him enough to make him stop asking. I know one day we will have to have "the talk" but for now, at five and three years old, all I can do is laugh out loud at my kids' curiousity!
