40 days until Christmas!!

It may be a tad bit early...but this weekend the Knight family put up their Christmas decorations!! Since we will be traveling to Ponca City to spend Thanksgiving with Brandon's family and then hitting the road early to make Christmas day with my family in Connecticut we decided to get the decor up and enjoy it!! I have to admit that I had forgotten how many NEW decorations I had collected over the past couple of months. Brandon was raising his eyebrows at me as I carried in bag after bag from the mudroom, where I had hidden all of my shopping trip treasures! It was worth it, though, to collect so many new goodies over time and hide them away! It felt like Christmas morning itself pulling out all our new pillows and nutcrackers that I had forgotten I'd purchased! I'm giddy all over again just thinking about it! Anyway, I'll get right to it...Brandon used his fancy work camera to take some "artistic" pics of our decorated home! Hope you enjoy!

As we "speak" I am baking my first cookies of the Christmas season and filling my snowflake themed cookie tray! Isn't it so true that as the weather turns cold and the Christmas lights go up around the neighborhood that your morning coffee makes you smile a bit more and your evening hot coacoa tastes a bit sweeter! The fleece blanket draped over your sofa feels that much warmer and the twinkle in your kids' eyes as they dream about Santa at the North Pole takes you back to your own childhood and makes your mind wonder "Does he really exhist??" Christmas is by far my FAVORITE time of year! I love looking over and seeing my Christmas tree with all my kids crafty ornaments on it and I love hearing (and finding myself humming along) to the Christmas music playing in all the stores! I love wondering what's inside the large and small packages tightly wrapped under the tree and I love even more finding that perfect gift for everyone that I love! I love baking, I love snow, I love candles and pie and I really love Christmas movie marathons...
I could keep going but you've probably already stopped reading by now and plus, I'm sure you've gotten the point!! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! I'm so excited that the season has started and I can't wait to see how you and yours celebrate!!

Dear Erika...
I have a confession to make. Please don't be disheartened! Here goes: I have never decorated for Christmas! Are you gasping?!! I know, it's pitiful but one of these days I shall!!!
Signed, the woman who enjoys Christmas but doesn't decorate...
