Happy Birthday Dear Jesus

Tonight in Rainbows, Maddox's class had a Christmas party! He came home with all sorts of "Happy Birthday Jesus" gear including a crown, flute, ring and a Santa pencil! Maddox was very pumped up about his class party and had alot to say about all the games they played. He told us on the way home that he was "really good at the ducky game"!! But then he told us that he got split up into a group during the party and ended up with a "bunch of girls" (as he put it) and so he "didn't play with anyone". I have to say, as a mom, that it doesn't exactly hurt my feelings that he still thinks girls are gross...there's plenty of time for that later!
I also have to mention that today Maddox and I were running errands while Ashtyn was at school and so while it was just me and him I tried to talk to Maddox about his upcoming Christmas program this weekend. He is in the 3&4 year old program and will be playing the part of a sheep. Well, as I asked Maddox if he was excited about his show stopping sheep performance this Sunday, he informed me that he was not going to be a sheep. Maddox said, "I changed my mind, mom, I'm not going to be a sheep I want to be a cow!" I tried to explain to him that there are no cows in his play, only sheep. But he insisted that he DOES NOT want to be a sheep, he wants to be a cow! So, this Sunday, we may have the first mooing sheep in the history of the nativity scene!! (sigh.) Stay tuned...

Ah, the memories your boys will create over the years. I can't wait to see how the "sheowp" role turns out for him.
