After the mini program, the kids were split up into groups and placed at one of four different craft centers around the room. First up for Maddox was the Christmas ornament craft station! Maddox's teachers had prepared a zip lock baggie for each child with the ornament pieces and a picture of them for the center pre-prepared in it! They are such good teachers! Maddox had fun making his ornament but I think he was most excited to use glue! Ha!
Next we moved to a table where Maddox made a reindeer sandwich!! I would have never thought to do this but the kids had alot of fun with it and all enjoyed eating their sandwich!! The reindeer were made with a piece of sandwich bread, a single slice of turkey, pretzels for antlers, twizzlers for a mouth and skittles for the eyes and nose!
Leave it to a boy to take a huge bite out of a sandwich made with a combination of turkey, bread, pretzels and candy...and actually enjoy it too!!!! Maddox ate the whole thing!!!!
Eeeeeeeeeew!!!!
While Maddox was making his sandwich SANTA HIMSELF came over the intercom system and greeted the kids with a loud "Ho! Ho! Ho!" He told the kids that he was very busy preparing for Christmas Eve and that he knew how good they had been this year! He then asked the teacher, Mrs. Johnson, to come outside and get a special surprise he stopped by to deliver to the kids! When Mrs. Johnson came back into the room she had a letter for each child from Santa!!!! Maddox bought the entire thing and was PUUUUUMPED to see his letter from Santa! He thrust his letter into the air with an excited "Yes!!!!" Christmas morning is gonna be a blast at the Knight house!!!!
Then we moved onto the "hot potato" station. Here we played a sort of revised hot potato where we passed a stocking around the circle and when the music stopped whoever was holding the stocking got to reach inside and get a candy cane! The kids got a real kick out of this game!
Last, but certainly not least, we decorated Christmas cookies!! Ash even got in on this one!!
YUMMY!!!!
Maddox's party was alot of fun! When we left, Maddox's teacher gave each student a wrapped present which we were told to put under our Christmas tree and not open until Christmas! Oh boy is that hard! That one single present has been sitting under our tree for almost a full day now and I can't even count how many times Maddox has asked if he can open it! I'm not so sure we're going to make it to Christmas...
