"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

down home cookin'
For Christmas, Brandon gave me The Pioneer Woman cookbook!! This weekend I cooked my first dinner and dessert from the new book. I made beans and corn bread for dinner and this bluberry cobbler for dessert! Mmmmmmm! The cobbler was SO easy and SOOOOOO delicious! In fact, I'm sitting here on the sofa looking forward to a huge spoonful this afernoon! I may even slap on a scoop of vanilla ice cream! :)
