"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

a taste of summer
Today's weather was just plain GORGEOUS!!!! And the only thing that made it even better then just a pretty day was the fact that my kids were out of school!!!! Those two things combined made it pretty much a perfect day...besides the fact that I had to do laundry! Ha!! Anyway, the boys enjoyed the backyard today and played hard. Most of the time when they are playing outside together it is a whirlwind of imaginitive play, bouncy balls flying through the air, high pitched laughter and, yes, even some good ol' fashion brotherly arguing. At one point this morning, though, it got shockingly quiet. Hmmmmm. When you have two boys and suddenly don't hear any sound whatsoever you pretty much know that something is up! I walked to the back of the house expecting to see Ash and Maddox up to something...but I was happy to see both my boys sitting in the trampoline drawing!! Wow!! They were both just lounging next to each other completely calm and quiet drawing their own little pictures!! Sure, the silence didn't last long and soon enough they were up out of the trampoline running around and screaming again but just the sight of them sitting there was so sweet!! I'm so ready for summer!!
