proud pre-k grad

Yesterday morning my baby graduated from Pre-K!! I was happy for him but also very emotional. Maddox's teacher had put together an awesome ceremony where the kids sang songs and then we watched a video slide show she had put together with pictures of all the kids and pictures of different events and parties throughout the year!! The video was really good (I even bought a copy!) but let's just say that there wasn't a dry eye in the room!! Even Maddox's teacher was crying!! It's sad to realize that your babies are growing up. They are becoming independant and learning more and more everyday. I truly can say that I'm excited for the future, though. I know that my boys are far from "raised" and there are so many more memories to be made but the very fact that we don't have a baby in the house anymore is a bit hard to swallow. Time flies!

To start off the Pre-K graduation Maddox's class sang several songs! It was very cute but for some reason everytime Maddox would see Brandon watching him he would stop singing and just stare in our direction! Ha!! We're not sure why...I guess he was embarrassed...but it was very funny!! He didn't seem to mind that I was taking video, Aunt Rae was taking pictures and even Noni was smiling and watching but anytime Brandon would look his direction he would just glare!!

I made Maddox wear a dress shirt which he was NOT happy about!! But he looked so handsome!!

After singing songs and watching the slide show, Maddox's teacher called each students name "graduation style" to hand them their graduation certificate!! WooHoo!!

We were all so very proud of Maddox!! I know he was proud too but I think he was a bit embarrassed by all the attention. He seemed very shy...

This is Maddox's friend, Ian. He also goes to our church and I think these two can be quite awnry together!!

We kept BEGGING Maddox to take a post-grad picture with Elia and Ashtyn but he wanted NOTHING to do with it. Ash and Elia, however, were happy to take a picture together. I was laughing at this shot because it almost looks like they're going to prom together or something!! Ha!!

After some bribing (telling Maddox he could pick where we ate lunch...) Maddox finally agreed to a group picture!! Now that's a good lookin' group of kids if I say so myself!!

This is Maddox's teacher, Mrs. Johnson. Maddox is going to miss her and, honestly, I'm going to miss her too! She's not only a teacher, she truly loves her students and it shows. Maddox has loved going to school this year and I believe that Mrs. Johnson has instilled in Maddox a love for learning! I have appreciated how Mrs. Johnson has not only allowed me but has welcomed and encouraged me to get involved in her classroom. She is more the happy to let mom's come into her classroom and help with everything from storytime to centers to even making copies for her when needed! It has been a pleasure to help out and I've really enjoyed it! Thank you Mrs. Johnson for being such a great teacher! I know it's the cliche thing to say but THIS teacher really has made a difference in our lives!

This is Mrs. Badgett, Maddox's classroom assistant! She too is such a good teacher and is so patient and kind to the students! You can tell she loves what she does and it really does make a difference! We are truly going to miss Mrs. Badgett just as much as Mrs. Johnson. Thank you Mrs. Badgett for all of your hard work and for impacting Maddox's young life! He loves school and I give you and Mrs. Johnson all the credit! You've made it a great year!

There's nothing quite like seeing a sign that says "Class of 2024!!!" Whoa!!! If that doesn't make it real then I don't know what does!!!

Such a proud Pre-K Grad!!!!

After Maddox's graduation ceremony, he chose to eat at Chick-fil-A and then we treated ourselves to frozen yogurt at Orange Leaf!! Such good choices!! Mmmmmmm!!

When I started this blog I was just a stay at home mom with two babies at home wanting to chronicle my boys' life, keep a journal for myself and let friends and family who live far away see my boys grow. I wasn't thinking too far into the future or expecting what my blog has become. I certainly never imagined that I would be posting pictures of my kids graduating Pre-K or Kindergarten, showing their lost teeth or other major milestones. It's emotional to watch but I'm happy that I have it written down to look back on as my boys get even older. They grow so very fast and I honestly have blinked and my boys are 7 and 4!! Where does the time go?? Other mom's tell me that it'll only be another blink and I'll be posting pics of their first car or high school graduation. I know that's true but for today I think I'll push that as far from my mind as I possibly can and just focus on now. Focus on watching scooby doo in the mornings and swimming late into the afternoon. Focus on picking wet action figures out of the tub just so I can take a shower and not having a clue what's going on in the world because we can't miss one episode of Special Agent Oso. These are the moments that slow time down and remind me what my blessings in life truly are. I love you Maddox! Congratulations on completing Pre-K and being such a fun, energetic and strong willed little boy! I can't wait to see where life takes you and what God has in store for you! You make mommy laugh every single day! I love you!
