On Friday morning we didn't get into any hurry to get up or ready. We slept in (Knight family style...which really means up at around 7ish...) and Brandon went downstairs to get us some breakfast! Maddox, of course, wanted a waffle and our hotel had a "make your own waffle" station and the waffle maker was shaped like Texas! So cool! What could be better then FREE breakfast, in a hotel, in your PJ's and that's shaped like the state of Texas!?!? It definitely started the morning off right!!
While we were getting ready, all the kids ended up in our room and as I was doing my hair I could hear them playing. When I walked past the living room area Ashtyn said "hey mom! watch this!" and he started doing a one armed push-up!! (Well...his version anyway...) and pretty soon all the kids were giving it their best shot and trying to one-up each other!! They're so funny!!
Once we got to cousin Josh's house, Uncle Ken started a game of charades with the kids! I wish I had gotten a video of this because it was HILARIOUS!! (I told you Uncle Ken was funny!) Uncle Ken acted out a variety of farm animals for the kids to guess and they guessed all of them...pretty much. We were all a bit stumped by the "elk" which was interesting to say the least...!!! (If you were there you are laughing right now!)
We finally decided it was time for a "calm break" (maybe more for the grown-ups then for the kids) and so we sat everyone down for a movie while we fixed lunch! The kids looked so cute all lined up on the bench!
Friday evening we all loaded up and went to our hotel for some swimming time! The kids were REALLY looking forward to it because the day we checked into the hotel the pool was closed for maintenance and so they had to be patient for a full 24 hours! It was TORTURE!!!! We had a blast swimming!! Almost every single family member swam and Aunt Teresa and Aunt Kiki even jumped in in their clothes after not planning on swimming! Ha! They just couldn't resist the fun!!
I'm not sure what's going on with Elia here but it sure looks funny! I will say that we all got a pretty good belly laugh (at Elia's expense...) when she tried to copy Aunt Kiki by doing a hand stand on the bottom of the pool! Not only could Elia not reach the bottom of the pool anyway but to make things even funnier Elia was wearing a swimming suit with a built in life vest and so she couldn't even barely get her face under water! She just kept flapping her arms and kicking her legs frantically trying to get to the bottom of the pool, every now and then coming up for air and then going right back down! It was FUNNY!!
I think it's safe to say that swimming WORE US OUT!!!!
It was a great second day in Dallas!! What will tomorrow hold...???
