"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

just keep peddling
Maddox had a goal over the summer to learn to ride his bike without training wheels! It was a long summer. Brandon spent countless hours outside teaching him. I walked outside, taking a break from cooking or cleaning, more times than I can count after hearing "I almost got it! Come watch mom!" and Maddox endured a variety of bumps, bruises, scrapes and cuts. There were times Maddox wanted to give up. One time in particular, Maddox came STOMPING into the house, shut himself in his bedroom and cried vowing never to ride his bike again! Thankfully, though, we were able to convince him to go back out and give it another try and shortly after summer break (and a few weeks into fall) Maddox GOT IT!!!! He is now a bike riding fool and can ride with the best of them! Look out world! Maddox is on two wheels and he approaches bike riding with the same attitude he approaches life...full speed and throwing caution to the wind!
