Every year the boys' school has dress up days to celebrate everything from Homecoming to Red Ribbon Week! We dress up most of the days. There's only been a couple that we have passed on...mostly at my boys adamant refusal. This year, though, there was a day everyone was excited to dress up for! Redneck Day!!!! I dug through the boys' closets and found some pretty great outfits! I used their 4th of July t-shirts from this summer, cut off the sleeves and put some camo colored long sleeved tees underneath. I also found a camo hat for Maddox and a camo bandana for Ash. They looked great! Once the boys came home from school, Maddox walked straight to his room and shut the door. At first, I was afraid something had happened during the day that upset him but moments later Maddox came back into the living room wearing his sleeveless flag tee without the undershirt! Ha! I asked him why he took off his long sleeved tee and he said "I like it better this way!" I laughed but was secretly relieved it had been chilly outside that day so that he couldn't insist on wearing the sleeveless tee to school! As usual, my boys are polar opposites. Ash loved the dress up day but was happy to go back to his normal wardrobe...Maddox, on the other hand, felt right at home in his redneck get up and I'm pretty sure I will find him trying to wear this exact same outfit as often as humanly possible! Sigh...
