Ash started playing the recorder this year in music class at school. He is doing so good and he is so proud of himself! Sometimes he has to practice at home for homework. This day he had learned three new notes and was simply supposed to play them over and over again. Before I recorded him he was in his room, with the door closed, faithfully playing his three notes over and over and over and over and over. It was sweet to stand on the other side of the door and secretly listen as Ash practiced. When he would miss a note he would vocally "Argh!" out loud, sigh deeply and then continue from the top! He is such a perfectionist and literally played these three notes until he got it right. Perfect in his own mind. Of course, it sounded perfect to me from the very first time! I truly hope that Ash will fall in love with music and want to learn an instrument. We need another musician in this family!
