"Tyler is in the Army so he kills bad guys. Sometimes the good guys get hurt and they don't come home."
Ashtyn, out of nowhere, informed me of this today. I asked him who told him this and he said "he just thought of it". Ashtyn seriously thinks through things...it almost makes me sad. Should a 5-year-old already grasp this concept?? I'm not sure, but he does. I guess when your Uncle Tyler is in the Army these things are just on your mind...

Sometimes kids see things through the eyes of innocense (sp?). They can be blunt but honest. But it does make my insides feel funny just to know that he's thinking about those kinds of things.
I know...it does seem like this should be over his head! I was talking to April (Tyler's girlfriend) though and telling her this and she asked if they had done something at his school about the military and when I thought back I know they had. I got a note just a week or so before he said this stating that they were having an assembly to honor our military so I'm wondering if he picked up some info from that. Plus, I mean with Tyler being in the Army I'm sure he's overheard us say more then we think he has. They hear everything!
