"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

FROM "JUST LAUGH"
It was a moment that I never thought would happen. One of those moments that will live in infamy and only become a bigger and better story with time. It is a confession I have to make right now. Over this past weekend, Casey, Rae and Elia came to Mustang to have an early Christmas weekend celebration. We ate yummy food, watched Christmas movies, shopped and finally ended our weekend with a drive through the Christmas in the Park light display. Christmas in the Park is a very large drive thru christmas light display in Yukon that spans three city parks! It is beautiful! Well, this past Saturday was the opening night of Christmas in the Park. There were TONS of people out viewing the lights and some parts of the drive thru were quite backed up. When we got about half way through the last drive thru and were sandwiched in with cars both in front of and behind us Maddox announced with great desperation from the back seat "I HAVE TO GO POTTY!" I told him that we would find a bathroom as soon as we got out of the park but he responded by standing from his seat, grabbing himself and dancing around saying "I HAVE TO GO REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD!" Each "really" growing in intensity and volume! I knew he HAD to go. Unfortunately, all I could picture in my mind was us allowing Maddox to pee in the park and the car behind us getting upset and either confronting us or calling the police or both! Yikes! So, as I racked my brain with another option I looked down to see a lid sealed styrofoam hot chocolate cup that I had gotten earlier at the gas station. I think you see where I'm going with this! As much as I didn't want that to be my only option, I hesitantly asked "Will you go potty in a cup?" Well...Maddox being the boy that he is was more then willing and even a bit excited to try going potty in a cup! Amid giggles from both Rae and I and cheers from daddy and Uncle Casey, Maddox successfully pee'd in the cup. It was both disturbing and hilarious to hear the sounds of Maddox using the "cup" in the backseat all the while giggling in only the way little boys can when they are doing something wrong. When the deed was done, Brandon put the lid on the cup no longer containing hot chocolate and secured it until we got home. After that we were able to enjoy the rest of the Christmas lights and Maddox quit doing the potty dance... This was definitely a "first" worth remembering...and laughing hysterically at!
