growin' up

TWO WEEKS AGO, we thought we purchased a new dining room table. We bought it from a certain furniture store here in OKC and at first they told us the table we wanted was available for immidiate pick-up, only to find out later that day that the table we bought would actually have to be ordered. We ordered our perfect table and were told it would take a week and a half to come in. We patiently waited and a week and a half came and went. The next day Brandon began calling and we were told day after day that "the table would be in tomorrow"... Well, here we are at two weeks and counting and finally someone at the furniture store told us today that the table is on back order and could possibly take another4 weeks to arrive! HUH!?!? We politely asked them for a refund and went to a different store where we fell in love with a different dining set!!! AND to make things even better this new table was IN STOCK!!! Hallelujah!!! So, Brandon purchased the table and took it from the store right then and there! The only catch?? We have to put the table together ourselves...ho hum. I know, not fun, but it saved us some money and made for some what of an adventure! Maddox was ready for the task...can you tell!? HA!!!

While Brandon set up the table and chairs, Ash and Maddox jumped into an impromptu craft time and decorated the box the table came in! Fun!!

Ash used all the foam and packing pieces to build himself a "house" and then he decorated it!!

Maddox kept trying to steal pieces of Ashtyn's house to use as swords and lightsabers but Ash guarded them pretty good...

And now for the finished product...TA DA!!!! Isn't it beautiful!?!? We're quite proud of our new purchase and very excited about it! I can't wait to eat breakfast at it tomorrow! I think this calls for pancakes!!!!

By the way...I have to mention that this is the VERY FIRST dining room table that Brandon and I have bought since we got married!!! So cool!!! We just realized that as we sit here on the sofa!!! Our first dining room table we made and the second one was on loan from my sister!!! Yea for us!!! We're grown-ups now!!! :)
