I don't know if you know our state song here in Oklahoma but there's a line in the song describing the landscape of our great state and it says "where the wind comes sweeping down the plains..." Well, let me just tell you, that line has never been more true then this past week!! We have had daily winds peaking at almost 50mph and that's just on a sunny day!! Whew!! It has been daunting. We've had to sit through soccer games in the wind and play at the park in the wind and eat dinner on the deck in the wind...you just want it to let up for a moment! Please just a second of relief! Well, a couple of days ago the boys and I had spent the entire afternoon and evening outside and then ate dinner outside. When I brought the boys inside to give them their showers and put them to bed Ashtyn looked up at me and said "Mom, your hair looks pretty!" I thanked him but laughed on the inside knowing that my hair was windblown and crazy! Those thoughts were confirmed when I glanced at myself in the mirror after tucking the boys in. I was happy for the compliment from my little man though!!
