OK, so I have to say it...PRE-K HOMEWORK IS MORE WORK FOR MOMMY THEN MADDOX!!! Ha!!! I know I'm making light of it but it's so true!!! I knew going into Pre-K that Maddox would have "read for 20 minutes a night" homework and basic things like that but I didn't expect all the extras that we've had to do so far! Now, don't get me wrong, I love doing little crafts with my kids and sitting down and interacting with them and helping them learn but some of this stuff is verging on torture! In Maddox's class he brings home a craft with each unit that is homework to do at home with mom and dad. The current unit is called "All About Me" and his teacher sent home a little gingerbread looking person cut out of construction paper and asked us to "make it look just like Maddox"! It was fun once Maddox and I got started and really got into the nitty gritty of the craft but the prep work for mom took almost as long as assembling our little mini Maddox. After digging out our craft supplies, tracing a tiny t-shirt and shorts, cutting up pipe cleaners and printing off a little storm trooper to adorn Maddox's paper shirt I was already crafted out and we were just getting started! Ha! Maddox and I sat down at the table where Maddox decorated his little shorts and glued all his "clothes" onto his little self. In the end I think our "paper Maddox" turned out really good! It has blonde hair like Maddox and is wearing a Star Wars t-shirt! If that doesn't say Maddox I don't know what does! I really enjoyed my "alone time" with Maddox! We got to talk and discuss and Maddox had all of mommy's attention but still I have to ask myself...homework in Pre-K??? I say it's suspiciously more like homework for mom!

paper me!

Did the other students in his class make such super-duper paper-selves? You really went all out! Maybe the perfectionist in Maddox's mom takes things to the next level! You should be PROUD! Maddox sure does!
