have you seen this pumpkin?

Happy Halloween!!!! This morning, I made the boys a special lunch for Halloween!! I cut their sandwiches into the shapes of bats, packed them orange filled Oreos, a handful of candy corn and a pumpkin flavor filled oatmeal cookie!! Mmmmmm!!

After school, Brandon picked up the boys and took them to the store to buy pumpkins so we could carve them. Unfortunately, we didn't plan for the fact that every store and pumpkin patch within 15 miles of Mustang would be completely SOLD OUT of any and all pumpkins!! What!?!? We were very disappointed but there was really nothing we could do so once everyone got back home we decided to just carve the mini pumpkins we had painted a couple weeks earlier. They are tiny so we weren't able to carve anything extravagant but it worked!!

Maddox loves getting his hands all sticky and gooey pulling out the insides of his pumpkin but Ash doesn't really like it...so, Brandon cleaned out Ashtyn's pumpkin for him.

Ashtyn drew a picture of the face he wanted carved into his pumpkin and Maddox chose a Star Wars symbol!!

Before we put our pumpkins out on the porch, we got the boys all dressed up in their Halloween costumes and headed to the church for their annual Trunk-or-Treat!! We start in the parking lot going from trunk to trunk getting candy from different characters and then we head inside the youth building to play games and eat yummy food!! Oh...and get WAY more candy of course!!

The boys had so much fun playing all the little games inside. They had fishing, spin the wheel (which is the boys favorite!), ring toss and many more!!

As we were leaving we met a giant cowboy in the parking lot!!

Then we sat outside and ate our snow cones while Brandon stood in line to get our hot dogs and popcorn...

Tonight, we had a dinner of hot dogs, popcorn, brownies, snow cones and of course Halloween candy!! Oh, and don't forget the lemonaide!! Yikes!! I guess if you can't eat like that on Halloween then when can ya!?!? When we got home we put our pumpkins out on the porch and lit the candles inside!!

Then the boys spread out their candy and dug into their loot!! We only let them pick two pieces for tonight but I'm sure tomorrow after school they'll dig right back in!! (They'll probably even try at breakfast...!!!)

This Halloween had a pretty big set back when we couldn't find any pumpkins to carve, but we made the best of it and had a great evening!! And we have a TON of candy to show for it!!
