aunts, uncles and cousins...OH MY!!

On Good Friday, the boys were out of school and B had the day off from work so we drove to Ponca City to have lunch with Brandon's family. His aunt, uncle and cousin had driven in from out of state for the weekend and unfortunately we could only go for the afternoon and then had to head home but we were excited to see them. We were running a bit late that morning because on a VERY rare occasion, Maddox slept in!! My kids are super early risers. Their norm, even on weekends, is to wake up at 6:30 or 7:00AM!! But on Good Friday, Maddox slept until 9:00AM!!!! At first I was afraid he was getting sick but he seemed fine once he was up and moving. We opted to run late for lunch, though, rather then wake him...you just can't mess something like that up!!

Once we hit the road, Maddox also hit the air guitar! I don't know what it is, but ever since he was able to control his arms, Maddox has danced and played guitar to all rock n' roll music...particularly the really good stuff from the 80's!! Ha!! It's almost like he has no control over it either!! I love how in this video he continues to play air guitar even as he looks out the window and almost looks like he's sorta bored on his face but just continues to play and "rock out"!! Then, once the song is over, he simply picks up his DS and continues playing as if nothing happened!! Ha!! I'm sorta scared what this ACDC addiction is going to turn into later in life...!!!

Once we got to Ponca, we had lunch with family at our favorite mexican restaurant and then went back to Noni and Papa's house to visit! This is cousin Lauren holding baby Natalie!! So sweet!!

Aunt Beck and Uncle Bill brought gifts for the boys!! They received an Iron Man mask and weapon AND a Captain American mask and weapon!! They were pumped!!

Thanks Aunt Beck and Uncle Bill!!

They also got pirate t-shirts and bandanas too!! Lookin' good!!

The boys LOVE Lauren!! They ask about her all the time and are always very excited to see her!! Unfortunately, they only associate her with the beach because we visited her at her famiilies beach house on the Gulf a couple of years ago and so every time I tell the boys we're "going to see Lauren" they think we're headed for the beach!! Ha!! Too bad this wasn't one of those visits...but it was still so good to see her.

Even though our visit was very short and we had to head straight back home so Brandon could finish up everything for Easter service at church that weekend, it was well worth the trip and so much fun! Before we could go, though, Captain American and Iron Man had to have a battle in the driveway...
