"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

moments to live by
Maddox may be turning 6 this summer but he still likes mommy to hold him when he falls asleep at night. He pulls out all the stops too! He doesn't just ask to sit in my lap...oh no! He sticks out his lip, gives me puppy dog eyes and even says things like "I just can't let go of you..." I guess I have to admit that he totally has me wrapped around his little finger! When I hold him in my arms, though, knowing that he's not a baby anymore and that time is going by way too fast I just can't help but think that I have to remember each and every one of these moments. I soak them in, take a mental picture (and a real picture as you can see!) and do my best not to take ANY second for granted. We don't know what tomorrow holds and I certainly don't want to live with any regrets, especially when it comes to my children.
