5th Anniversary Camp Cousin Day #3

Camp Cousin Day 3!! Woohoo!! Almost half way through the week and we're still alive!! Ha!! We finished up our Ponca City portion of camp cousin today, but before we could head out of town we all met together at Auntie April's house for breakfast and board games. April made her famous french toast and bacon and had also put on a pot of coffee to give us all a jump start for our third day of camp cousin.

We all LOVED our french toast. Ash didn't want any but he ate up the bacon faster then poor Auntie April could make it!

Maddox didn't want to take just one picture with his french toast but also HAD to take another picture with his glass since he had received the OSU cup! I'm raising him right!

Cousin Natalie had breakfast with us too.

And then we broke out the board games! Ash and I started out by playing Guess Who...

but then Elia took over for me.

And Aunt Rae and Maddox played dominos.

It wasn't long before the babies had full bellies and were tired of watching us play games and so April set them up in the living room watching a Baby Einstein DVD. Elia, being the wonderful mommy she is, sat in with them and made sure they were content. She has such a mommy's heart already.

After a couple hours of playtime, we loaded up the van and headed to Enid. Auntie April and Natalie weren't able to join us for the out of town portion of camp cousin this year but hopefully next year they'll be able to travel a bit more. When we arrived in Enid we went straight to Leonardo's Discovery Warehouse for a fun afternoon. Leonardo's is a small science museum that has both an indoor and outdoor area. Rae and I had already kind of decided to only participate in the indoor activities today because of the extreme heat outside and when we arrived at Leonardo's a worker told us that the outdoor portion was actually going to be closing DUE TO the heat and so it all worked out. But we were excited about the indoor activities and got right to discovering!

I know it's hard to see it but the kids are actually inside this spinning fabric curtain! It made them dizzy but they couldn't stop going in!

Every time we've come to Leonardo's the kids have enjoyed the dragon maze.

Even though Noah stayed in his stroller most of the day he still had a really good time. He's the happiest baby in the world!

Each of the kids made some artwork in the art center. They had crayons, markers, paints and all sorts of crafty things.

Even Noah got in on the action...sorta...

Ashtyn, especially, loved this area. There were a variety of shapes and objects that you used magnets to arrange on these large circular boards to create wheels and different kinds of mechanical contraptions. It was really cool!

Then we built blocks!

This thing was really cool! I don't know how to explain what it was. All I know is that you would sit on a stool and using your feet control two petals that would move a board with a piece of paper on it and then cause a pen to draw on that same paper. Sounds confusing but it was neat. Depending on which direction you moved the foot petals effected the way the lines on the paper would go. We stood in line FOREVER to do this activity. Maddox LOVED it...but once Ash got a turn he thought it was boring and got up almost immediately.

We made it back to the fishing area at the end of the day and Maddox made me take a picture of EVERY...SINGLE...FISH he caught!

It was definitely entertaining for Noah...

We ended our trip to Leonardo's with a visit to the wood working shop.

After leaving Leonardo's we met Great Gramma Anna at Cici's Pizza for a late lunch/early dinner. We ate at like 3PM so I'm not sure which one it was but whatever it was it was very yummy! The only problem was that when we first arrived there was no cheese pizza on the buffet. Ash will ONLY eat cheese pizza. So, we asked the man working that day if we could have a cheese pizza and he said yes but I felt bad for him because considering the hour of the day we arrived there was literally ONE MAN working! He was taking orders, making orders, cleaning, clearing tables and everything in between! He was very nice though and told us our cheese pizza would be ready as soon as possible. We waited a few minutes and then I walked up to the buffet to see if the cheese pizza was ready. I thought I saw it on the buffet and so grabbed a piece for Ash. I took it back to him and he looked at it kind of weird. I thought he was just being picky so I told him he better eat up. Ash took one bite and put his pizza back on his plate. At this point, Ash was so tired that he was nearly in tears when his pizza didn't taste right. Now, I have to admit that by this time I was getting a little short tempered. Ash is a VERY picky eater and even the foods he will eat have to be presented and prepared in a particular way and so when he had a melt down over his cheese pizza I didn't know what to do. I told Ashtyn, in my best mommy-toned voice, that his pizza was "perfectly fine" and he needed to "eat it" because we "weren't having a snack" until bedtime. He wasn't happy with that answer and continued to pout. He refused to eat and so finally passed his pizza to Elia. Well...Elia took one bite and, without knowing it, totally put me in my place. After tasting the pizza Elia said in her most excited voice, "Mmmmm! This is BBQ pizza!" OH...MY...GOODNESS. I just spent the last 20 minutes trying to convince, scold and bribe Ashtyn into eating his "cheese" pizza and all along it wasn't even regular cheese! I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry at that moment and so instead I just walked back up to the buffet and discovered that the ACTUAL cheese was finally out and took back Ash a couple of pieces. He was more then happy to eat those. Oops. My sister made fun of me for this the rest of the week...

We enjoyed our pizza with Great Gramma Anna and then loaded back up in our cram packed van and headed to Mustang. It was a long day three at camp cousin but it was fun! We're making memories...even some that we might rather forget! Ha!
