CT Trip Day #7 "Homeward Bound"

On our last day in Connecticut, we had to get up and ready especially early because our flight left mid morning and we still had to go by Kevin and Karianne's house to say good-bye. Our "good-bye" visit was going to take a few extra minutes too because our dad (who James is named after!) wasn't able to be at the hospital when James was born. He, unfortunately, had to be out of state for work that day so this would be the first time dad got to meet James! It was a very sweet moment! When I got dressed Thursday morning, it felt weird to put on flip-flops again. It was pretty chilly in Connecticut during our visit so I wore closed toed shoes the entire time but heading back to Oklahoma we were headed back to summertime! Had to let my painted toes out!

Grampa Mike meeting James Michael! Beautiful!

I also held James one last time...

Rae and I checked into the airport with no problem and our first flight took off on schedule! We were finally homeward bound!

Unfortunately, when we arrived in Atlanta for our layover we found out that our second flight had been delayed. Ugh. Thankfully, it wasn't too much of a delay but still too long when you're anxious to get home! Noah was doing his best to holler at the airport workers below to GET OUR PLANE as quickly as possible! Ha!

We finally landed on Oklahoma soil Thursday evening and it felt amazing! My boys and Brandon were waiting for me at baggage claim and had TONS of stories to tell! When my suitcase arrived Maddox was quite the gentleman and wheeled my very heavy suitcase all the way to the car! Wow!

I already miss baby James, my sister, Kevin and my entire family...but I know Christmas will be here before I know it and we'll all be together again!
