"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

the joy of happy
I've been around the Knight family for almost half my life! I started dating Brandon when I was 15 and we've now been married for over 10 years! Throughout all that time my mother-in-law (my boys' Noni) has given gifts that she calls a "happy". A "happy" is a gift given for no reason at all. She will see something she thinks a member of her family would love and picks it up for them and gives it to them on any random day of the week. I love receiving a "happy" now and then and now my boys are getting to experience the joy of receiving these thoughtful gifts from their Noni as well. Recently, an unexpected package arrived on our front porch and when we got home after picking the boys up from school it was sitting there waiting for us. We had NO idea what it was! We weren't expecting anything! When I saw that the package was addressed to the boys and from their Noni I know that their afternoon was about to be MADE! I told the boys who the package was from and they were instantly all smiles and super excited. We opened the unexpected gift to find a book for each of the boys, with a special message written specifically to Ash and Maddox in the front cover of their book, and a new cup with sea creatures on it! They were so excited and just HAD to drink from their new cups right away! Thank you Noni! You made our day!
