thankful for laughter

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! First thing Thursday morning the boys had a special video message for all of our family! (Or at the very least a Thanksgiving laugh...) Maddox insisted on having his blanket over his head because he said he "wanted a hood" and then asked me if when I pushed record if he could yell "I'm an old man!!" Hmmmm...I still have no idea what's going on inside Maddox's brain but it sure does make me smile!

The boys helped me cook SOME of Thanksgiving breakfast. They helped with the biscuits and the bacon but then left the gravy to mom. They are big helpers in the kitchen!

We had a breakfast picnic while we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! Our favorite! OK...it's really MY favorite and I force all the men in my life to watch. B would rather watch something else (anything else...) and the boys like bits and pieces but I force them to have a good time with me through the entire parade! Ha!

A Thanksgiving miracle occurred in the Knight home when Ash dipped his biscuit in chocolate gravy and tried it for the very first time! GO ASH! That was also his first time to try a breakfast biscuit! Woohoo!

I think Maddox's Thanksgiving may have been made when a float came by singing "We Will Rock You"...Maddox's dance moves never cease to amaze me...

Oops! I was wrong! Maddox's Thanksgiving was DEFINITELY made when the Power Rangers made an appearance in the parade! Maddox grabbed his Power Rangers sword and jumped up and down around the living room screaming "They're real! They're real!" It was awesome!

What Thanksgiving would be complete without some wrestling and rough housing!? Yes...this move ended in tears...

After breakfast was cleaned up, we got ready and went to see Rise of the Guardians before Thanksgiving dinner. The movie was really good!

This is the very first Thanksgiving we've ever spent with just our little family of four. It was kind of bitter sweet since we weren't with family but it was very laid back and really nice. We had turkey, ham, rolls, mashed potatoes, corn, cornbread stuffing, pumpkin pie and pecan pie. Let's just say we're going to have leftovers for DAAAAAYYYYYYS!!!! Ha! But it was worth it! Dinner was awesome!

After cleaning the kitchen YET AGAIN we got ready for bed and then the boys watched a movie while Brandon and I watched "Hatfields & McCoys" the entire night. What a relaxing Thanksgiving. As nice as it was though to have a quiet holiday I'm counting down the days to when my ENTIRE family will cram into my sisters house for Christmas and we'll enjoy a week of LOUD, ROWDY and HILARIOUS behavior! It's just not the holidays until you're scrounging for personal space, making plans on the fly and living in pure chaos! Bring it on!
