muddy buddies

While Seth is at camp with his parents for five weeks during the summer we try to set aside one day during each of those weeks to drive to camp and let the boys play! This year, our days of play turned into afternoons of play because Maddox has summer school every morning of June but an afternoon is better than nothing! The first week of camp we drove down on Wednesday. That entire week was filled with rain chances and, of course, the day we planned to visit it was POURING!!!! We were soaked from the moment we got out of our car in the camp parking lot until the moment we left. Well, the boys were at least...I tried to stay inside as much as possible! The boys weren't deterred, though. They fished in the rain, rode around in the golf cart in the rain and of course played in the mud. When we left that evening the boys were COVERED in mud! They begged to jump into the lake to clean off but I hadn't brought them anything to change into for the ride home so I had to say no...to which Maddox replied "BUT WE'RE MEN!" I laughed but still, the answer was no. The boys sat inside until they dried off, I made them take off their muddy rain jackets, shoes and socks, stored them in the back of the van and then we drove home...still in the rain. What a fun day! I mean afternoon!
