splish splash

We absolutely LOVE where we live! There is never a shortage of things to do. If we want to go to the movies, there are a variety of theaters to choose from. If we want to go to the park, again a variety of choices. If we want a theme park, we've got one! The zoo...yep! Science Museum...yep! History Museum...of course! We can go to the mall, Target, Chick-fil-A, bowling, mini golfing or if it tickles our fancy even a Banjo museum in Bricktown! This is a FAR CRY from how I grew up. Living in a small town (or a series of small towns...) leads to a lot of PBS watching (because that's the only channel you can get on the ol' rabbit ears) and playing "run away from the cows" in the field next to our farm house. While I would never trade my childhood memories for anything I'm happy to raise my kids in an actual city that has so much to offer!

The one thing we haven't had since moving to Mustang was a splash pad. I mean, come on, even most small towns have those these days! But, nope, we didn't have one...until this summer that is! The nearby city of Yukon put in a splash pad and it is AWESOME!!!! The boys love it and mom and dad love it too! The kids can run and play, cooling off on a hot summer day, while mom and dad sit in the shade, not afraid anyone is going to drown, reading and, in Brandon's case, dozing off. I'm sure there will be something else that will come along at some point that we wish our city would build but for now our lives are complete. Thank you City of Yukon! This family for sure loves the new splash pad!
