Happy "Force of the Jedi"

Happy 4th of July everyone!! This morning we woke up early and had some breakfast and then got ready for a fun fourth! Unfortunately, first thing this morning, we weren't sure how much of a 4th of July we would have because it was pouring down rain...but luckily the clouds eventually cleared and the sun came out! We were very glad that our 4th of July plans would get to happen but not very happy that when the rain left the humidity came in...yuck! I guess when you live in Oklahoma you shouldn't expect any less!

After breakfast, we all got dressed up in our 4th of July tees!

The boys spent most of the day playing in the sprinkler and watching movies while Noni and I shopped and worked on Nathan and Dana's wedding! As the sun was finally setting, though, we made our way into the backyard to set off our fireworks! YIPEEE!

Brandon had taken the boys to the fireworks stand earlier in the afternoon and picked out mostly kiddie fireworks. Every year since Ashtyn was born he has been terrified of ALL fireworks (even sparklers) but surprisingly this year he got right out there and even lit his own smoke bombs! WOW!!!! Maddox joined in on a few but he mostly enjoyed watching from the sidelines with Papa.

The growing snakes were a HUGE hit!!!!

After setting off most of our fireworks we took a break to eat dinner...and what 4th of July would be complete without strawberries!?!? Maddox dug right in...

Then it was back outside to watch daddy light off a few bigger and louder fireworks!!

Finally, both boys topped off the night with sparklers!

After our fireworks bags were empty we headed inside for baths and to watch the Star Wars marathon on TV. Oh! By the way...I bet you're wondering why my post is titled "Force of the Jedi"!?!? Well, this morning, after I dressed the boys I said "Happy 4th of July!" and Maddox looked puzzled and asked "What's Happy Force of the Jedi?" HA! He was convinced all day that it was "Force of the Jedi" day! We tried to convince him otherwise but after awhile just let him tell everyone "Happy Force of the Jedi Day"!

HAPPY 4TH...or should I say "force"...TO YOU ALL!!
