remembering summer

Today was our last day of summer! Sure, the weather is still nice and all but tomorrow Ashtyn starts school and we will officially live, sleep, eat and breathe the Mustang Public School Calendar! So, this afternoon the boys and I took a walk down memory lane and made summer collages. I printed off a variety of pictures from all of our adventures this past summer and then handed out a piece of paper, scissors and glue and let the boys do their thang! Ashtyn, of course, cut out each picture perfectly and glued them to his paper in a perfectly spaced out pattern. Maddox on the other hand is still getting the hang of using scissors and so ended up tearing most of his pictures and then glued them haphazardly all over his page. Once the boys collages were finished I asked them what their favorite part of the summer was and then wrote it on their collage. Ashtyn said his favorite part of the summer was "going down the waterslide and Uncle Nay-Nay's wedding" while Maddox's favorite part was "going to the music thing when Uncle Casey was there". It was alot of fun to sit with my boys in a quiet house and watch them reminisce over each picture. We had some interesting conversation and a few good laughs! This activity may have to become an annual event!

I loved the video! Keep those coming! They hold their scissors so well! What a great idea and they turned out really cute.
