seasons change

Not only are we about to go from summer to fall but our family is about to have another HUGE changing of the seasons in our home...Ashtyn is starting kindergarten! I found out over the weekend that he was placed in the morning kindergarten program which means he will attend school from 7:50AM to 10:30AM! No, it's not that long of a day but it's still going to bring quite the change in our home. Staying home with my two boys has caused us to have quite the laid back routine around here. We wake up whenever the sun wakes us, have breakfast in our PJ's and then watch cartoons or play outside or just do whatever we "feel" like. Sometimes we get dressed but more often then not we stay in play clothes and sweat pants...aaaah, the good life! Starting Thursday, though, my alarm will be going off at 6:15AM so that we have time to get ready and have some breakfast before taking Ashtyn to school. With our new schedule just around the corner, today was our unofficial last day to laze around the house. We soaked in our last bit of summer by,

watching "Finding Nemo" on mama's bed...

snuggling in for naptime...

swimming with daddy after dinner...
and playing on the swingset in underwear before bathtime!

I've always been a fall and winter girl! I love hot chocolate, warm comfort food, coats and scarves and of course football season...but now that my babies are growing up and starting school I will have a special place in my heart for summer because that is the time they will still be ALL mine!!

Again you made me cry. I love that you are such a good mommy, not just a mother or even a mom, but a mommy. You savor the moments and they may not know it right now, but someday they will so very much appreciate how much you loved them!

Thank you for being such an awesome daughter-in-law and for loving my "babies". You and Maddox will develop new routines and the afternoons will be quite eventful! You are a good MOMMY! Love, Noni

Erika I love the pics of them running around in their undies out in the yard. Nate tries to do that often too. It must be a boy thing HA

Raising three girls just didn't lend itself to running around in underwear! I've taught boys for many years so know alot about their likes, etc. But I've learned even more with those grandsons. Body image has a totally different perspective when it's viewed by boys! Good job Erika at accepting that with such flair!!!!!!!
