This morning the whole family attended an assembly at Ashtyn's school! We found out about two weeks ago, via a note from Ashtyn's teacher, that Ashtyn had been selected to receive the Character of the Month award in his class. He was winning this character award for exhibiting the characteristic "Enthusiasm". We were, of course, very proud! We had been told to keep Ashtyn's award a secret from him so that he would be surprised! It was a long two weeks trying not to let the good news slip but we finally arrived at Ashtyn's school this morning eager to see the look on his face when he was announced the winner!!
Ashtyn actually looked kind of shocked at first, when they announced his name, and wasn't quite sure where to go or what to do. His teacher helped him out, though, and when we picked him up after school he was proud of his certificate! I was extra excited to find out that Ashtyn also received a "Proud Parent" bumper sticker! So, the next time you see us we will be rockin' a "Terrific Kid" bumper sticker on the mini van!!
