twinkle in their little eyes

One oversized Santa themed cookie tray...$1.00
Two Christmas themed hot cocoa mugs...$2.00
One singing nutcracker who REALLY plays the drums!...$12.50
Enjoying and re-living Christmas through the eyes of my boys...PRICELESS!!!
Rae and Elia came to our house last night for an overnight playdate! We promised the kids last night that we would go to Hobby Lobby and let them pick out their very own Christmas ornament but didn't make it last night because we went over to Jill's house to play with her boys. So, after Ash got out of school this morning we headed to Hobby Lobby to do some shopping! The kids each chose an ornament (Ash chose an airplane that he thinks is an "army plane", Maddox chose a football with helmet and Elia chose a ballernia dress!) After ornament shopping Rae and I couldn't help but snoop around at all the other Christmas decor! In case you haven't noticed...we LOVE Christmas! All of us Wiles' girls would live in Christmas year round if we could! I had been keeping my eyes on these nutcrackers at Hobby Lobby and waiting for them to go on sale and sure enough today they were 50% off!!!!! The boys each chose one (a pirate themed one and one with a sword, of course) and we also chose a wind-up Nutcracker who really plays the drums and sings "Here Comes Santa Clause"!!! I can't wait to put him out to play everyday!

We also went over to the Dollar Tree to see if they had Christmas stuff out and sure enough they did! The boys helped me pick out a couple of small snowglobes, mugs and shimmering Christmas trees! I LOVE IT!!! At our house we will be putting up our Christmas decorations quite early this year. One reason is because we are traveling to Connecticut for over a week during the Christmas holiday and so want to enjoy our own decorations for as long as we normally would before we hit the road and also because the Johnson family will be visiting our house in about a month for a Christmas movie night complete with pepperoni bread and hot cocoa! I can't resist the urge to put up all my decorations before that weekend! The countdown to Christmas begins...

And I think the Nutcracker with the drum needs to take lessons from Casey. He is just not keeping up with the tempo or rhythm of the song!
