October 2009 tied as the 2nd coldest October in Oklahoma City recorded history...and then November came. For the past three days, we have had temps back up into the mid 70's with nothin' but blue skies! Normally, this would be perfect but after being teased with cooler temps for nearly a full month, and stopping taking my daily allergy meds, the temps (along with the allergies) have jumped WAY back up and caused our family some issues. Sure, we get to enjoy the backyard for another week before the cold weather strikes again BUT we also all have sinus headaches, runny noses, watery eyes and can't stop sneezing! So, even though the weather is picture perfect we can hardly go outside and enjoy it. Bummer. Anyway, with the sun shining in the windows all morning the boys and I couldn't resist a bit of backyard playtime! The boys figured out a new "trick" on the swingset and we also found and captured a grasshopper!! It's our first grasshopper "pet" even though Ash kept calling it a cricket. Oh well. I'm thankful for the warmness and sunshine but I'm SO ready for winter coats and snow boots!! Bring it on!!

What did you name your pet grasshopper? Garry the grasshopper? or Gertrude?
