unpainted soldier

I still love doing crafts with my boys but I'm afraid to admit that the end to mommy/son craft time may be closer then I want it to be. With both the boys in school (where they already do crafts...) and just with them getting older, sitting down to have craft time doesn't always seem to be at the top of their list. Both boys would much rather be playing video games, running outside or playing toys. Sigh. While I can get them to do crafts with me though I'm going to keep doing it! Even if it is only for a few minutes! So, this week we painted nutcrackers! Everything was going really well at first. We had Christmas music on in the background and we were painting and talking until...Ashtyn accidently mixed his paint colors. OH NO!!!!!! Ash just couldn't go on once there were streaks of brown paint in his white paint and once Ash was done Maddox was most certainly done. So, craft time was over. There is more unpainted wood on the nutcracker then there is actually paint but I will still cherish them forever! Ashtyn's is the one with the blue and yellow crown and Maddox's is the one with the sword.
