"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

chilly valentine
Friday was Ashtyn's Valentine's Day party at school and so Maddox and I visited his class to help out with the party!! All of the Kindergarten teachers had worked together to provide a sort of musical classrooms style party where each class of kids traveled as a group to each of the other kindergarten teacher's class rooms and did a different activity in each room! At our first stop, we sorted and graphed valentine candy hearts. It was fun and the kids did a great job! The table I helped was really smart! (Of course!) Then we traveled to the next classroom where the kids were each given a small ice cream cone and then allowed to decorate it with a variety of sprinkles! Mmmmm! The teacher was even nice enough to give Maddox his own cone! Our last stop was back to Ashtyn's own classroom where the kids did a craft. They each made an elephant out of pink and red heart cut outs! They turned out really cute! Once we were done with our musical classroom activities, Mrs. Haas (Ashtyn's teacher) gathered all the kids on the classroom carpet and gave them their valentine bags! She then dismissed them...but not without getting a huge group hug first! It was really sweet!
