"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

it's the little things
Ha! I know this picture may look normal to you at first...but look closer. When I picked up Maddox from school today his teacher was chuckling as she put him into the van. At first, I didn't catch on to why but then at the very moment Maddox's teacher said with a smile "He put on his own jacket today..." I noticed!! His hoodie is inside-out! Ha! He's so stinkin' cute! Obviously, his teacher knew just as well as I did that Maddox was so proud of his accomplishment that she didn't correct him, and neither did I! Maddox buckled himself into his booster seat and we started the drive home. I asked him if he had put on his own jacket and he replied with a proud smile "YES!" Oh to be four. That unexpected moment, something as small as my son putting his hoodie on inside out made me joyful. It brought a simple peace to my soul and a calm to my mind. It reminded me to find happiness in the little things and to make memories of seemingly ordinary life. Sweet life.
