When I picked Ash up from school on Tuesday he hopped into the car and immidiately said "I have homework!!!!" (He said it with a bit too much enthusiasm if you ask me! Ha!) I teased him by saying "No you don't..." and we bantered back and forth for a minute or two. Finally, I asked him what his homework was...? He explained that he had to write the numbers 10 and 11 over and over and then draw 10 items on one side of his paper and 11 on the other. Ash was super excited because this is the first time he's ever brought home actual homework. I wasn't sure if his teacher was preparing the class for 1st grade or what but after Ash watched a couple of after school cartoons he sat down at the kitchen table to finish his work! Of course, with Ash, he couldn't just draw 10 hearts or 10 stars or anything like that...NO! He had to draw 10 and 11 complete mini scenes on his paper. With everything from bakugans battling to bob the tomato and larry the cucmeber standing next to each other, Ash sat long enough to complete his detailed mini drawings! I was proud of him! Once he finished his work I told him to put his paper in his backpack. He asked "Why?" I told him that when you have homework that means you have to take your work back to your teacher the next day for her to look at it. That's when he told me that he really didn't have to take it back to school he just didn't have time to finish his work page at school so he wanted to bring it home and do it! Huh!?!? Wow!! Ashtyn is gonna be a good student! Who does that!?!? Ha!! Anyway, I made Ash go ahead and take his completed work sheet back to school the next day just in case he was supposed to but I guess if not then he just got some extra practice on the numbers 10 and 11!!
