a moment in time

All throughout this school year Maddox's Pre-K teacher has sent home a variety of different "at home" projects that we were assigned to do as a family! They were all fun things and not truly "homework" but when it comes down to it ALL Pre-K homework or projects are simply a ton of work for mom and a little bit of work for Maddox! Ha!! Oh well. We've had fun working together and making some good ol' fashion family memories! The last project of the year was something I was very excited about! Maddox's teacher asked us to create a time capsule for Maddox that we will seal at the end of this school year and he won't open again until he is gradauting as a senior in high school!! Whoa!! It was a big task and one of those projects that you seriously want to get right because you only get one shot on what you put into the capsule!! So...Maddox colored on some construction paper (Star Wars scenes, Bakugan scenes, his name over and over and scribbles of course...) and then I did the rest! I stuck on little jewels, star shaped stickers and a picture of my little man and then we started filling the box. Brandon and I each wrote a letter to Maddox and then we asked some friends and family to do the same. Even cousin Elia wrote Maddox a little note! So cute! Then we tossed in a questionaaire Maddox's teacher provided where we listed some of Maddox's likes and dislikes and we also put in a Star Wars t-shirt and a couple of Star Wars action figures. Then we sent the time capsule to Maddox's teacher so that she could add a few things she had saved throughout the school year! It's sort of surreal to think that we won't be opening that box again for 13 years but when we do open it it'll be so much fun! I know I'll cry and I'm sure it'll embarrass Maddox but it'll be a memorable day. I can't even begin to imagine who Maddox will be or where he'll be headed when he's 18 years old but I know wherever and whatever it is Maddox will be doing it with a ton of determination and in a very loud voice!!
