on the hunt

Our church sponsored a neighborhood wide Easter Egg Hunt again this year. We love going and of course the boys love it too! We arrived at the hunt ready to go. The boys were excited about the eggs but what they WEREN'T excited about was mommy making them stand together to take a picture! Ha! Yes, you heard me right, even with as photogenic as my children are they still huff and puff at mom when she MAKES them pose for a picture...I guess that makes us normal!?

The egg hunt was split up based on your child's age so Ash and Maddox were in different areas of the park. I went with Ash to his hunt and Brandon went with Maddox. The morning of the hunt Ashtyn actually wasn't sure if he wanted to participate. I was sad when he said that to me. My baby boy is growing up. I think, being almost 9, he's starting to become aware of those around him, the choices they are making and what choices he wants to make for himself. It's sad to see him lose that innocence but I'm happy to walk with him through this. Once we got to the hunt, though, Ash was excited and ready to go! He heard that there would be a prize egg and from that point there was no turning back!

On your mark, get set, GO!!!!

The boys both got a TON of eggs! Neither of them found a prize egg but they still found a lot of candy and cool trinkets and toys. It was a successful hunt!
