"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

after school snack
Grampa Mike (my dad) gave the boys each a Sonic gift card a couple of years ago. Ever since, he has kept both cards loaded with money on a regular basis. Sometimes we run out (we try to use it sparingly) but then the glorious day comes when Grampa Mike calls and says "I put money on the boys' cards!" Woohoo! I usually get the call while the boys are at school and it's always an awesome surprise to pick them up and say "Guess what!? Grampa Mike is buying our after school snack today!" They always know what that means! We are headed to Sonic! Instead of going home and having boring old gold fish crackers or yogurt we get some deep fried, yummy goodness. It brings a smile to everyone's face each and every time!
