Last week, the boys had a day off of school for teacher meetings and so we took advantage of the free day and went to
Ponca City to visit family and friends! We were only able to stay for
the day so it was a quick visit but it was very sweet. First, we stopped
at my sister's house to pick up her and her kids before heading to the
park. Every time we see Noah he has changed so much! You forget how
quickly they get older when they are toddlers and learning new things
every day. This visit, Noah had learned how to say Maddox's name, except
he doesn't call him Maddox at all. He calls him "Bam Bam" which is a nickname Uncle Casey gave him years ago. I think it's pretty self explanatory why Casey would give this nickname to Maddox! Noah has also caught onto the fact that Maddox is the cousin who will play rough with him! As soon as we walked through the door Noah wanted to run, wrestle, throw, kick, jump, dance and basically just MOVE with his big cousin Maddox. They went non-stop all day long! Noah thinks Maddox is HILARIOUS!
We drove to the park and met my friend Beth and her daughter Piper for some playtime. The weather was nice but lunchtime and a swarm of bees ended our playtime sooner than we would have liked. The kids wanted to go to McDonald's so we moved our play date to the playscape inside McDonald's and let the kids eat and play while the mommies talked. My sister in law April and niece Natalie met us for lunch too.
The day wasn't near long enough and we packed a lot into the little bit of time we had but it was worth it. With Ash and Maddox in 2nd and 3rd grade now, this school year is turning out to be extremely busy. I feel like all I do lately is go to work, go to church and help the boys with their homework. Day in and day out. Throw in laundry, cooking, cleaning and scraping up a bit of free time to read and my week is packed! We are already counting down the days to Thanksgiving break for some good old fashion sleeping in and visiting family.
