"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

that smile
Absolutely, positively, without a doubt NOTHING brightens my day like a Facetime call from my nephew! (And my sister too of course!) When James was a teeny tiny baby and we would Facetime he would just lay there and giggle at me while I made silly faces. Then, when he was able to sit up on his own he would still give me some smiles and giggles but was more interested in his toys most of the time. Now, when we Facetime, James either spends the entire time crawling away from his mommy (and me on the phone) and I watch while my sister chases him, trying to keep him off the stairs OR James has real "conversations" with me! This was one of the best conversations we've ever had! When I started sticking out my tongue at him he laughed at me at first. And I mean, LAUGHED at me! Auntie is so silly! Then he figured out how to copy me and we spent quite some time sticking our tongues out at each other. We finally ended our call with some of the best smiles and giggles in the world! We laughed together! James honestly has the brightest smile in the world! He's awnry and most definitely all boy but Auntie will always think he's an angel! (And that smile will get him out of trouble for the rest of his life...)
