none

Ash has a planner for school that he has to write his assignments in every day and bring home. Each day I am required to look over the day's assignments and initial the planner, showing that I have seen it. This week, when I opened Ashtyn's binder, I got a sweet (but sad) surprise. Written under the "science" section of Ashtyn's assignment list was the word "NONE" and then Ash had drawn a sad face with streams of tears flowing from the eyes. Poor Ash. He has two favorite subjects in school, reading and science. He gets to read A LOT, especially this year being in third grade and having state reading assessments coming up...but sometimes science falls between the cracks of everything else the kids have to learn. Apparently, Ash has strong feelings about that. As much as I want him to stop growing up there's also a part of me that can't wait for the school years when Ash gets to choose his classes so that he can really focus on what he loves. He's so smart. There are great things ahead for my little man!
