camp cousin 2014 day five

Camp Cousin 2014 Day Five. This will forever be known as the camp cousin spent in my sister's temporary two bedroom apartment. That's right, we had 5 adults and 6 kids in a two bedroom apartment for an entire week! It really wasn't as bad as it sounds. It wasn't easy but it was still fun! We ate quite a few meals out but we also took turns cooking and when you're cooking for so many people in an apartment sized kitchen you get the added bonus of the smoke alarms going off every two and a half minutes. This camp cousin will now also be known as the one where we either had to keep the backdoor open while cooking and risk letting the toddlers escape or a volunteer had to stand near the fire alarm and fan it with a decorative pillow while the meal was being cooked. What can you do but laugh!?

Today Aunt Kiki was in charge of breakfast. I should've known it would be far from traditional. She made delicious biscuits and bacon but then let the kids top their biscuits with whatever they wanted. Including gummy worms.

For our last hurrah we took the kids to Kid Mania, a giant indoor playground! The boys wanted to play cops and robbers inside the play structure while Elia wanted to play house. At one point Ash came down from the top tier very upset because Elia was following them around begging them to play house and they "couldn't get away from her"...thinking I was helping I suggested they just continue playing cops and robbers and ignore Elia. She would either stop following them or start playing with them. Either way everyone wins! Right!? Well, as soon as I suggested this, Ash started crying. I knew the week had made him tired but I couldn't figure out why he was crying about this! He finally told me that he didn't want Elia to follow him but he also didn't want to ignore her because "it might hurt her feelings"...oh buddy! The struggle is real folks.

After Kid Mania we had dinner at Chick-fil-A before ending our night swimming once again. Ash calls Chick-fil-A fries "a red box of heaven" and after he finished his entire meal his Aunt Kiki treated him to a second box! Spoiled!

The cutest crew in the world!
