camp cousin 2014 day two

Camp Cousin 2014 Day Two. Today we visited the Ross Perot Science Museum! It was honestly amazing! Far exceeded my expectations!

Once we got inside the museum we went straight to the top floor and worked our way down. It only took a second for the kids to divide and go their separate ways. Ash and Elia went with me while Maddox went with Grampa Mike. I think it goes without saying that Maddox and my dad tour museums exactly the same way. Speed is the name of the game! Ash, on the other hand, wants to read EVERY. SINGLE. PLAQUE. and learn as much as he can. I had to nudge him along more than a handful of times so the museum wouldn't close with us still inside!

Ash definitely impressed me in the dinosaur area. I knew he had a lot of dino knowledge but he would literally point to a skeleton from across the room and name it only to discover that he was exactly right when we got close enough to read the name. Whoa! My little genius!

Aunt Kiki is the queen of the photobomb.

These crazy kids are so much fun!

There was an athletics room in the science museum that was awesome! One exhibit let you go into a netted cage, throw a football (or kick a soccer ball) and then walk out of the cage to a computer screen where you could watch yourself throw the ball in slow motion and compare it to a professional throw! Two thumbs way up!

Probably the coolest exhibit in the museum (if we had to choose one!) would be the life size races! When it was your turn you got to choose who you wanted to race against on the life size screen and then you lined up at the starting line for the countdown to race time. You could choose between a cheetah, a dinosaur, a variety of professional athletes and many other things. Maddox raced against a professional athlete and his Uncle Kevin while Ash raced against a T-Rex and his Uncle Casey. So very cool!

I don't have a caption for this pic. I'm at a loss. And a little worried for when this kid turns into a teenager.

After a long and busy day at the science museum we went for an evening swim while we watched the sun go down.
