Maddox was the first to begin roasting his marshmallow. He wanted to go way back old school and roast his marshmallow on an actual stick he found in the yard!!

She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

s'more spring please
What a BEEEE-AUTIFUL day!!! The sun was out and the temps were in the 70's!!! No complaints from us!!! We spent the entire day outside. We soaked up the wonderful spring weather by doing everything from playing on the swingset to taking a walk around the block, playing in the sandbox and even taking inside toys outside to play with them on the deck!!! We just couldn't get enough. So, it was no surprise that when Brandon got home from work I made dinner and we ate on the deck. Then we decided to go ahead and light up the firepit for the very first time and make some s'mores! YUM!
The boys munched on some marshmallows while we waited for the fire to get going and we discussed our upcoming treat...

Ash opted for a more traditional wire hanger, though. I can't blame him. I'm a hanger kinda girl too!!
Then it was time to chow down! Maddox took a big bite of his s'more but ended up prefering his s'more ingredients separate, so he ate some marshmallows, some crackers and some chocolate instead! HA!!

Ash was proud of his creation but only nibbled on the marshmallow that was smooshed out from inside the crackers...no surprise there!
Then, while mommy ate her s'more and cleaned up our mess daddy and the boys played in the backyard. It got pretty interesting...to say the least...

The boys played star wars for awhile and then they just started getting silly. Ash begged me to take pictures of him making a variety of funny faces! Here is a chocolate s'more grin...
and the classic "sticking the tongue out"...
of course we had a couple "just silly" faces...
then Ash made "tooting" sounds with his hand under his armpit...
and for some reason began acting and making noises like a chicken...HA!!!
the "chicken" up close...
HUH!?!?
and finally...Ashtyn dancing!!!!
Then Ashtyn took a silly picture of daddy...
and Maddox, of course, had to take a turn too!!
Suddenly, Maddox was cracking up from the swingset where he was sitting sideways on the swing and pretending it was an infant swing like they have at the park. He was even crying "baby-style" out loud and cracking himself up all the while!
