third leg

Nearly every single night, Maddox comes into mommy and daddy's room sometime in the middle of the night and usually kicks daddy out of bed (sending him to the sofa) and spends the rest of his night in bed with mom! We used to fight this trend but in desperate need of sleep we ended up just going with the flow! Come on parents...I know you understand! Anyway, Maddox is one of those kids who sleeps ALL OVER the bed! He doesn't lay in one spot or roll over and lay still all night. OH NO!! He tosses, turns, flails, kicks, rolls and spins! If it's humanly possible to get your body into a position, Maddox has slept in it! Sleeping with Maddox isn't always easy! He wakes me up quite often hitting me in the face or rolling over onto me or even yelling out lines from spiderman cartoons in his sleep, but the other night we experienced a first while sleeping together. I woke up sometime early in the morning and noticed that Maddox had cuddled right up to my back. I mean, he was right up on me! I was still half asleep and so was going to just move him over a bit so that I didn't get shoved off the bed but as I became more aware of my surroundings I realized that rolling over to move Maddox wasn't going to be all that easy because something wasn't quite right! I promise...you'll NEVER guess what had happened! Yep! Maddox had gotten so close to me that somehow, some way, Maddox's ENTIRE leg had gone down the back of my pajama pants!! You heard me right!! His leg was down the back of my pants and it sorta freaked me out once I realized what was happening! I mean, how does that happen??? What could Maddox possibly have done that his leg was inside my clothes??? HA HA HA HA HA!!!! It just makes me go "Huh??" thinking about it all over again! What can you do but laugh!?!?
