"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

family time...finally
Yesterday, Ashtyn was supposed to have a soccer game at 10:30AM but at his Friday evening practice we found out that the game had been postponed. We were disappointed about the game but excited for a free day to do something as a family! We decided on the zoo! With highs in the 70's we couldn't resist getting outside and showing daddy the new additions to the zoo. Brandon works so much that he hasn't been to the zoo with us in probably 9 months, at least! So, the boys were more then pumped to show daddy the new Children's Zoo exhibit and also just spend the day as a family! Today, unlike the first time we visited the Children's Zoo, the water features were open and so the boys had a blast wading in the waterfall fed river and walking along the rocks! They also had a water spout feature where water spews from the ground sprinkler style and you can run through it but we didn't do that part today...we'll come back soon in our swimming trunks and water shoes!! That'll definitely come in handy when we visit the zoo in mid July!!
The boys are getting old enough that we don't bring a stroller or anything to the zoo but Maddox still claims that his "legs get tired" about halfway through each visit! Luckily, daddy was there this time to lend a helping...shoulder!!
