"Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth." Hugh Macmillan

welcome summer!!
Yesterday we thought we were going to sleep in but the boys were up and ready to go at 6:30AM!! Yikes!! I guess they didn't need as much rest after Six Flags as we thought...bummer!! So, we all got up and went to breakfast at IHop and then headed to the movies to see Shrek The Final Chapter!! We were up so early that we made it to the 10:40AM movie!! I don't think anyone else was crazy enough to get up so early...the theater was EMPTY!! HA!!
Eventually two other families with little kids did show up and we enjoyed the show. Brandon and I did learn a very important lesson, though. Buttery movie theater popcorn at 10:30 in the morning doesn't sit so well with the tummy. Ugh. We both had a stomach ache until mid afternoon. Lesson learned for sure!
The movie was really cute and funny (even though I think both Brandon and I almost dozed off from time to time!) and then we headed home to set up the backyard pool! The boys were so excited! It didn't take too long to get everything out of storage and the pool filling with water and within a few hours the boys were in their swimming suits and I was blowing up toy sharks and beach balls!!!

The boys were already back in the pool at 8:30 this morning! It's so nice to finally have "the babysitter" back! HA!!!! We ended our day with a perfect summer dessert...Mmmmm! It's Lemon-Raspberry Mousse with Kiwi on top!

I would say it's now officially summer! In fact, in true Knight family form, when we went to Lowe's just to get a new hose for the pool pump we found yet another project to do this weekend! I'd say I'm a bit more excited then Brandon but, of course, I'm inside typing this onto my blog and he's outside in the Oklahoma heat digging in the yard. I couldn't be more thankful though and as soon as our new project is ready to reveal I'll post pics of that too! I can't wait to show off Brandon's latest handywork!!!!
