three cheers for day THREE!!!

Day 3 of Camp Cousin started with the free kids movie at the Poncan Theater in Ponca City!! They were showing Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and so we settled in with our movie popcorn and soda and were ready for the show!! We made it through the whole movie except that I had to leave a few minutes early because we had parked in a 2-hour parking zone and we were about to pass our limit...we didn't want to get a ticket while at the FREE movie! HA!!
Then we had lunch at Burger King and headed to the lake to feed the ducks. For some reason, though, the ducks (and geese) were nowhere to be found! Hmph. There were only a handful of ducks at the pond that is usually packed with birds. So, we fed the ducks that were there...but they weren't very hungry...

So we ended up just throwing bread into the pond and letting the fish nibble at it! THEY were actually hungry! We eventually did find out where all the geese were hiding but there had been so much rain that we couldn't make our way close enough to the lake to feed them. Oh well, there's always next time!

Next, we were supposed to get snowcones in Ponca City and then go bowling at Ponca Bowl. We DID get our snowcones (who could say no to that???) but when we arrived at the bowling alley we were disappointed to find that they were closed. Bummer. So, instead we just left for Oklahoma City sooner then expected and went bowling there!! The kids had so much fun!! We did have to tell them that they all "tied" though because the boys were SO concered with who was winning and who was losing. (Shhhh...don't tell, but ELIA actually beat them both!!!)

Ashtyn had a blast bowling and actually tried his hand at bowling the correct way with his fingers in the holes and all!! He wasn't quite strong enough to actually throw the ball but he gave it his best shot! I think he's gonna be quite the bowler!!!

I think he's pumped about that roll...whadya think!?!?

Finally, we finished out the day by eating dinner at Chick-Fil-A and then heading to our home!! I had come up with some creative ideas to welcome our Camp Cousin guests!! I put together some welcome baskets for the grown ups and some goody backpacks for the kids. I printed off and wrapped the water bottles and candy bars in my make-shift Camp Cousin Logo. The wrappers read "Camp Cousin 2010 A Cousin is a Ready Made Friend for Life"

Brandon helped me (thanks hon) turn each of the three bedrooms in our house into a "cabin" for Camp Cousin. We transformed the rooms into "Cabin Sunset", "Cabin Campfire" and "Cabin Cricket". Each room had its own bed, themed headboard, framed photo, candle and accessories and, of course, their welcome baskets!! The welcome baskets were filled with everything from magazines, sudoku puzzles, travel necessities, reusable water bottles, a souvineer mug and other things that you may need while camping!! Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kiki were assigned Cabin Sunset...

Uncle Casey, Aunt Rae and Elia were assigned Cabin Campfire...

Our boys (and us, of course) would be staying in Cabin Cricket!! I think everyone was excited about their cabin and their goody baskets!! I know the kids were pumped for sure!! Their welcome backpacks were stuffed with pool toys, a battery operated lantern, some backyard toys and candy and it was all stuffed in a floppy backpack from the OKC Zoo!!

Tuesday evening we put the kids to bed a bit early to prepare for another busy day!!!! We're looking forward to it!!!!
